Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masakazu Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryobun Akagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aoki comes to the cage accompanied by Aerosmith - Dream On. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Masakazu Aoki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryobun Akagi!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akagi keeps the fight on the outside.
Aoki is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Aoki is pressed up against the cage. Akagi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Aoki down to the mat. Aoki avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Akagi has his foot on Aoki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aoki works his way back into a safe position though.

Aoki seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Akagi for as long as he can get away with.

and Aoki decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Akagi's guard.

Aoki's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Aoki takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Aoki moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Akagi.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Akagi isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Aoki stacks Akagi on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Aoki!
Aoki is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Akagi is trying to escape and Aoki transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Akagi is forced to tap! Nice work there by Aoki! Very nice indeed!
