Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lester Burt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Petrulis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Petrulis is fending him off so far but Burt persists. Nope, Petrulis circles away and we're back to standing.
Petrulis looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Burt has closed the distance and engaged Petrulis in a clinch.

A knee to the head by Burt.
Burt with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Burt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Petrulis clobbers Burt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
It looks like Lester Burt has been cut.
Petrulis on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petrulis throws a leg kick but Burt checks it.
Petrulis misses with a combination
and Burt counters with a two punch combo.
Burt decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Petrulis is looking to get back to is feet but Burt passes into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Petrulis seems a little lost for a moment, as Burt dominates the positioning.
Petrulis on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burt remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Burt is working to tighten his grip on Petrulis's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Petrulis has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Burt is really squeezing tight and eventually Petrulis passes out! Burt breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Lester Burt!
