Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andres Hammond (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfredo Capobianco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andres Hammond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfredo Capobianco!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Bruno Lombardi and Chad Campbell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Hammond.
Capobianco with the counter takedown but Hammond avoids it easily.

Capobianco postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
A lull in the action here as Capobianco stalls from top position.

Hammond could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Capobianco is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hammond's half guard.

Capobianco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hammond avoids a strike by Capobianco and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Capobianco's guard! Fantastic escape!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Capobianco throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hammond tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Capobianco is in Hammond's guard.

Capobianco gets to his feet - Hammond follows without any prompting.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Capobianco stalks Hammond and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hammond's face. Hammond staggers backwards, shaken.

Capobianco closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hammond to the mat! Hammond manages to get full guard.

Capobianco slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Alfredo Capobianco comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Capobianco has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
