Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Xavier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlinhos Valente (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Valente has chosen "We Dem Boyz" by Wiz Khalifa as his entrance music. Carlinhos Valente is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valente uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Xavier.

Valente gets in close and instigates a clinch.
A right hand to the body from Valente.
Xavier misses with the head strike.
Valente drops down looking for an ankle pick but Xavier pulls his leg out and moves away.
Valente swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Valente connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Valente smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Xavier feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Valentes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Valente fails to land the takedown.
Xavier drops his hands momentarily and Valente takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Xavier on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Xavier pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Xavier has been working on his boxing with his coaches at V Elite Gym in the buildup to the fight.

Valente fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Xavier swings widly with a right hand
and Valente counters with an outside leg kick.
Xavier misses with a hook to the body
and Valente connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Xavier lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Valente circles away quickly and effectively.
Xavier takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Valente has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Xavier tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Valente was well out of range. Poor timing from Xavier.
Dalton Xavier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Xavier misses with a body shot.
Valente connects with an inside leg kick.
Xavier throws a hook to the side of Valente's head but Valente sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dalton Xavier seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Valente throws a nice head kick!
Xavier throws a right hand that Valente ducks under and follows up with a left that Valente also avoids with ease.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Xavier throws out a loose jab but Valente uses good head movement to avoid it.
Valente uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Xavier.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Xavier, as that shot connected.
Xavier misses with a wild body shot.
Valente wants to counter with a clinch but Xavier pushes him away.

and Valente counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Xavier has had enough of the clinch but Valente keeps him there for the moment.

Valente breaks from the clinch.

Valente measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Xavier! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
