Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Slyker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slyker has chosen It's Amazing by Kanye West as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Cain Slyker enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 38 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 32 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Slyker!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slyker uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rogers.
Slyker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Slyker closes the distance and clinches up with Rogers, looking for a takedown. Slyker pushes Rogers against the cage but Rogers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Slyker takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Rogers pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rogers scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Slyker scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rogers doesn't seem bothered though.
Rogers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Slyker moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Slyker shoots for a takedown but Rogers saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Slyker darts in looking for a takedown but Rogers gets double underhooks and turns Slyker into the cage.
Steve Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Slyker.

Rogers is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Slyker is defending well.

Rogers seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Rogers is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Slyker is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Slyker has escaped and now he's on top!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rogers stops Slyker from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Rogers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rogers just content to control the position.
Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Slyker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Slyker is squirming around, avoiding Rogers's attempts to control the action.
Slyker wants to control but Rogers is having none of it.
Slyker is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rogers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Rogers is stalling here but it's allowed Slyker to get half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Slyker dives in and scores a takedown into Rogers's guard.
Slyker with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rogers pulls Slyker in to control the position.
Slyker throws a strike but Rogers rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Slyker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rogers sprawls well. Rogers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slyker gets slowly back to his feet.

Slyker ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Rogers is pressed up against the cage. Slyker has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rogers down to the mat. Rogers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Rogers counters with a three punch combo that has Slyker backing up. Slyker nods at Rogers to acknowledge the strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Slyker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rogers throws a big counter combination but Slyker scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Rogers lands with a right hand.

Rogers rushes Slyker and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Rogers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Slyker pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Rogers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Slyker closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rogers circles away.
Slyker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rogers but Rogers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Slyker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Steve Rogers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rogers really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Slyker.

Rogers is persistently looking for the submission but Slyker is defending it well.

Rogers patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Rogers has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Slyker has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Rogers is hanging on to Slyker's back as he tries to escape.

Slyker gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Rogers to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Slyker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rogers.

Rogers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Slyker clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rogers seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Rogers has got his arm under Slyker's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Slyker has spun round into Rogers's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Steve Rogers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rogers controls Slyker momentarily but Slyker frees himself.
Cain Slyker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Well Rogers has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
