Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alan Terkey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Alan Terkey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rob Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stevens scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Terkey definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Stevens is looking to take a break and control but Terkey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stevens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Terkey sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Stevens wants to control but Terkey is keeping him busy.
Terkey struggling a bit here.
Terkey is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terkey tries to bench press Stevens off him but Stevens keeps the position.

You can see the frustration on Terkey's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Stevens wants to lay and pray for a moment but Terkey keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Stevens rushes Terkey and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Stevens is trying to trip Terkey. He has hold of a leg but Terkey is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Stevens persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Terkey keeping moving, preventing Stevens from controlling successfully.
Stevens wants to get up but he can't break Terkey's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Stevens postures up and lands a big shot to Terkey's brow.

Stevens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Terkey is keeping the position for now.
Terkey wants to sweep here but Stevens controlling him for the moment.
Terkey wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Terkey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stevens defends it nicely.
Rob Stevens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Good leg kick by Terkey there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Stevens feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Stevens postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Stevens tries to stand but Terkey is controlling from the bottom.
Stevens wants to control from the top but Terkey keeps moving.

Stevens sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Terkey's guard.

Stevens prevents Terkey from improving his position.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Stevens drives through with a takedown into Terkey's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Terkey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stevens on the ground.

Stevens might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Terkey haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Stevens looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Stevens is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Terkey can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Terkey wants to control but Stevens is having none of it.

Well Stevens has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
