Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Russ Jensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Dos Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Russ Jensen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Junior Dos Santos!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jensen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Dos Santos throws a head kick that misses

and Jensen moves into the clinch.
Jensen really is a fat lump.
Dos Santos gets underhooks to prevent Jensen's takedown attempt.
Dos Santos drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jensen pulls his leg out and moves away.

Jensen clinches up with Dos Santos and pushes him back against the cage.

Dos Santos decides to pull guard.
Jensen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jensen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Dos Santos has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jensen has managed to get both his arms back between Dos Santos's legs - danger averted.
Dos Santos is trying to control the position but Jensen postures up.

Dos Santos is looking for a triangle but Jensen pushes his legs off easily.
Jensen postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Jensen stands up over Dos Santos, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jensen gets a double leg takedown into Dos Santos's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dos Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jensen with a nice head shot there.
Jensen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jensen won't allow Dos Santos to get back to his feet.
Jensen lands a couple of elbows.
Dos Santos preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Jensen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dos Santos shoots in looking for a takedown. Jensen tries to sprawl out of it but Dos Santos keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jensen manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dos Santos is looking to clinch but Jensen is avoiding it.
Dos Santos dives in and grabs Jensen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jensen pushes down on Dos Santos's head and hops out.
Russ Jensen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Dos Santos.
Dos Santos tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jensen defends well and Dos Santos ends up having to push Jensen into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Jensen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dos Santos manages to circle out of the way.

Dos Santos shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jensen but Jensen pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jensen is looking for a counter combo.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Dos Santos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jensen misses with a head kick.
Jensen swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Jensen drives through and clinches with Dos Santos against the cage.
Dos Santos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jensen has him pressed against the cage.
Jensen has Dos Santos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Dos Santos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jensen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dos Santos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dos Santos tries to pull guard but Jensen holds him up against the cage and eventually Dos Santos drops back down to his feet.
Dos Santos wants to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jensen throws a right hand that Dos Santos ducks under and follows up with a left that Dos Santos also avoids with ease.
Dos Santos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jensen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dos Santos somewhat.
Jensen tries to clinch but Dos Santos moves out of range.

Dos Santos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jensen, pushing him back against the cage.
Jensen fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Jensen has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dos Santos after a bit of a struggle.

Jensen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jensen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dos Santos can do to turn this around?

Dos Santos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jensen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jensen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dos Santos loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dos Santos looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jensen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dos Santos is defended easily by Jensen.
Jensen tries to counter by clinching up but Dos Santos breaks away and moves out of range.

Dos Santos throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jensen's waist but Jensen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dos Santos off to one side.

Jensen has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Dos Santos uses from the top position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dos Santos drags the fight down to the ground.
Jensen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dos Santos works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dos Santos has his foot on Jensen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jensen works his way back into a safe position though.
Junior Dos Santos has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jensen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Jensen postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Dos Santos is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Jensen, into his guard.

Jensen is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Dos Santos working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jensen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jensen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jensen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
