Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dudley Flowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nicko Shoota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicko Shoota will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dudley Flowers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Nicko Shoota!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shoota throws a series of punches but Flowers moves out of range.
Flowers tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Shoota manages to circle out of the way.

Shoota closes the distance and clinches.
Flowers keeps control of Shoota as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Shoota holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Flowers breaks from the clinch.

Shoota drives through and clinches with Flowers against the cage.
Flowers trying to stall but Shoota improves his position.
Shoota lands an uppercut.
Shoota is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Shoota pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shoota misses with a double jab

and Flowers moves into the clinch.
Flowers on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Flowers successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Shoota decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Flowers, up you get!
Shoota looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Flowers tries to counter by clinching up but Shoota breaks away and moves out of range.
Flowers shoots in for a takedown but Shoota shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shoota looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Flowers throws a quick counter head kick but Shoota was just out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shoota is pressed up against the cage. Flowers has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shoota down to the mat. Shoota avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dudley Flowers. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shoota swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Flowers looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Shoota throws a series of strikes that have Flowers backpedaling.


It looks like Dudley Flowers has been cut.
Shoota works Flowers's body with a nice hook.
Shoota thuds his right hand into Flowers's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Flowers blocks the body kick.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shoota feints a jab promting Flowers to slip. Shoota then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Flowers slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Shoota gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Flowers keeps control of Shoota as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Shoota lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Flowers is trying to pull guard but Shoota turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Shoota has had enough of the clinch but Flowers keeps him there for the moment.

Flowers manages to break the clinch.

Shoota gets a clinch.
Shoota wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Shoota working hard to break the clinch.
Shoota lands an uppercut.
Shoota has had enough of the clinch but Flowers keeps him there for the moment.

Flowers breaks the clinch.

Flowers gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Flowers's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Shoota closes the distance and clinches.
Shoota is trying to break the clinch but Flowers has him pressed against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Shoota is trying to force a seperation but Flowers has the dominant position.
Flowers wants to take the fight to the mat but Shoota manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Shoota looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Flowers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Flowers throws a head kick that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shoota moves into the clinch.

Shoota breaks from the clinch.
Shoota throws a one two combo.
Flowers wants to clinch
and Shoota counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Flowers is rocked!
Shoota plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Flowers to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Flowers just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Nicko Shoota!
A relieved looking Nicko Shoota thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
