The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Acosta slips a jab from Swick.
Shaun Acosta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acosta tries to score a power double leg takedown but Swick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Acosta somewhat.
Swick misses with a body shot.
Acosta takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Acosta shoots in for a double leg but Swick sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Swick wants to counter the offense by Acosta and move into the clinch position.

Swick feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Acosta shoots in looking for a takedown. Swick tries to sprawl out of it but Acosta keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Swick manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Swick decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Acosta gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Swick shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Swick showed some decent athleticism there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Acosta takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Swick lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Acosta is looking to close the distance but Swick sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Acosta crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Acosta is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
