The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox looks for a takedown but Johnes sprawls well.
Johnes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maddox moves away.
A cross from Johnes lands.
Maddox fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Johnes's jab looks to have found its range, popping Maddox under the eye.
Nice takedown defense from Johnes. No joy for Maddox on that attempt.
Johnes let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gray Maddox. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maddox rushes Johnes and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Maddox creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Johnes's defenses.
It looks like Calvin Johnes has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Johnes lands a nice shot that snaps Maddox's head back.

Maddox is breathing heavily.
Johnes drops a shoulder and throws a monster hook that connects perfectly to the side of Maddox's head, knocking him out cold! Johnes is extatic as he celebrates with his cornermen.
