The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a double jab.
Silva fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hoy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva.
Hoy shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Carlton Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Hoy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Hoy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hoy stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Silva.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva looks to land a combination but Hoy avoids it well.
Silva feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Hoy's calf.
Carlton Silva seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Hoy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carlton Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva pushes Hoy away with a front kick.
Hoy keeps the fight on the outside.
Hoy is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

and Hoy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Hoy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hoy, into his guard.

Hoy working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Hoy looking for subs off his back but Silva has passed one foot through into half guard.

Hoy wants to control the action here but instead Silva manages to pass to full mount!
Hoy regains half guard.
Hoy tries to kick Silva off but Silva keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Hoy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Silva's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Silva's back!
Silva is trying to get back to his feet but Hoy has full control of the position and if anything, Silva has just worked his way into a worse spot.
