The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arlovski throws a head kick but Gacov moves out of range.
Gacov connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Arlovski closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gacov did well to prevent Arlovski getting side control.

Gacov manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Gacov swings for the body but Arlovski moves out of range.
Gacov looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Arlovski is looking to land body kicks.
Arlovski throws out a powerful jab.
Axel Arlovski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Arlovski throws a head kick that misses.
Arlovski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hilo Fight lab in the buildup to the fight.
Gacov shoots for a takedown but Arlovski saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Gacov throws a left and a right that both miss

and Arlovski counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Gacov tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Arlovski wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Gacov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Arlovski's efforts to push away.

Arlovski pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Arlovski instigates a clinch.
Arlovski is looking to break free of the clinch but Gacov has double underhooks.
Arlovski has had enough of the clinch but Gacov keeps him there for the moment.
Gacov jumps guard but Arlovski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Gacov blocks an elbow strike.

Arlovski manages to break the clinch.
Gacov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gacov wants it to stay on the feet.
Gacov flicks out a counter leg kick but Arlovski steps away.
Arlovski lands a jab to Gacov's midsection.
Gacov misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Horrible takedown attempt by Arlovski or perhaps it was just good defense by Gacov, which made it look bad.

Arlovski fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Gacov, pushing him back against the cage.

Arlovski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Arlovski shoots in but no luck this time.

Gacov fails with an attempt to clinch.

Arlovski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Gacov pulls guard successfully.

Arlovski wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Gacov's closed guard. He's half up but Gacov has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Gacov pivots and extends the arm, Arlovski falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Gacov! Well done that man!
