The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Xtc scores with a one two! Brennan had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Malcom Brennan has been cut.
Xtc is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Xtc throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Brennan was covering up waiting for the punch and Xtc finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Xtc decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Brennan tries to sprawl but Xtc drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Brennan manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brennan has Xtc pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Brennan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Xtc tumbling to the mat - Brennan dives into Xtc's guard.

Brennan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Brennan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Xtc regains guard immediately.

Xtc has his feet on Brennan's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Xtc feints and as Brennan raises his hands in defense, Xtc changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
