The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mayer tries to keep at a distance but Robinson has taken the fight into the clinch.
Robinson has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mayer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Robinson wants to break the clinch but can't.
Mayer throws an elbow that misses.
Robinson tries to work over Mayer's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Robinson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mayer is on top in guard.

Robinson shoots in looking for a takedown. Mayer tries to sprawl out of it but Robinson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mayer manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Isreal Mayer overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Robinson is taking a breather. Mayer says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Robinson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mayer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Robinson.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Robinson in particular looking to stall.

Robinson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mayer keeps working.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Robinson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mayer on the side of the head.
