PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Karvel Marken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emilio Cerci (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Emilio Cerci told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Emilio Cerci!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cerci goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Karvel Marken has been cut.
Marken connects with a solid leg kick.
Cerci throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Marken with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Marken steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cerci.
Marken half committed to a counter leg kick.
Cerci fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Marken looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Marken pivots, looking for a leg kick but Cerci is out of range and Marken settles back down.
The fighters circling - Cerci throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cerci catches Marken with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Marken has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Cerci missing with a left hand there. Marken was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Marken half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
No joy there for Cerci, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Emilio Cerci seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cerci misses with a wild body shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Marken keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Marken half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Cerci tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Marken was well out of range. Poor timing from Cerci.
Cerci looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
The crowd cheers as Cerci lands an impressive looking overhand right. Marken doesn't seem phased though.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Marken misses with a low kick as Cerci jumps back.
Cerci swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cerci lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Marken is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Cerci.
Cerci throws out a loose jab but Marken uses good head movement to avoid it.
Marken moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Cerci tests Marken's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Marken doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cerci counters with a nice right hand that sends Marken toppling to the canvas! Marken scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Cerci finish him?!

Marken is rocked!

Karvel Marken's cut is getting worse.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marken walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Cerci! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
