Mongtong comes to the cage accompanied by Blackened. Wong Mongtong could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Marijo Palavra's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palavra tries for a takedown but Mongtong sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Palavra feints and as Mongtong raises his hands in defense, Palavra changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Palavra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mongtong was covering up waiting for the punch and Palavra finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Palavra accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Mongtong is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Palavra defends well.

A close round but Marijo Palavra will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Let's hope that Palavra has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Palavra dives in and grabs Mongtong's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mongtong pushes down on Palavra's head and hops out.
Mongtong throws a counter high kick but Palavra was just alert enough to avoid it.

Mongtong swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Palavra takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mongtong misses with a kick to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Mongtong lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Palavra has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Palavra and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
