Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Liam Dungy!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dungy looks for a takedown but Padilla sprawls well.
Dungy tries to clinch but Padilla moves out of range.
Some wild striking there from Padilla.
Dungy avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Padilla punishes Dungy's body with a nice straight punch.
Padilla digs a good hook to Dungy's body.
Dungy looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Padilla lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
It looks like Liam Dungy has been cut.
Padilla cracks Dungy with an uppercut from hell and Dungy crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Padilla's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
Dungy is rocked!
Padilla gets to his feet. Dungy looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Dungy is still on wobbly legs! Can Padilla finish him?
Padilla wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dungy seems to have recovered his senses.
Padilla scores with a shot to the body.
Padilla bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Dungy! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Padilla sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dungy wants to stand up but Padilla is controlling him.
Padilla stands up from Dungy's guard - Padilla perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dungy closes this distance looking for a takedown but Padilla circles away.
Padilla cracks Dungy with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Padilla has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dungy to stand back up!
Padilla throws an uppercut from hell that sends Dungy clean off his feet! He's out cold! Padilla stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Junior Padilla!
