Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hirohito Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Tostao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Joao Tostao was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hirohito Sato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Tostao!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tostao takes a swing at Sato's ribcage but misses.
Tostao jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Tostao tried to score with a low kick but Sato checks it.
Sato thumps Tostao with a low kick.
Tostao just misses with a punch to the body.
Sato slaps away a takedown attempt from Tostao, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sato tries to counter by clinching up but Tostao breaks away and moves out of range.
Sato moves out of range as Tostao strikes.
Tostao tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sato was well out of range. Poor timing from Tostao.
A shot to the liver by Sato. Beautiful body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Sato - that will leave a mark!
Sato definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Tostao ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sato moves away.
Sato with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Joao Tostao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sato connects with a leg kick. Tostao looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Sato moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Tostao is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sato.
Tostao tries to work over Sato's front leg with a kick but Sato checks it.
Tostao throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sato changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Tostao looks winded!
Sato checks a leg kick nicely.
Sato wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Sato fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tostao.
Tostao misses with a straight right.
Sato fakes the leg kick and cracks Tostao in the body.
Tostao misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tostao has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sato.
Sato scores with a spinning back kick!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tostao takes a kick to the side of the head.
Sato moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sato is looking to clinch.

Sato closes the distance and pushes Tostao back into the cage.
Tostao is looking to take this one to the mat.
Hirohito Sato has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joao Tostao.
Sato lands an elbow inside that Tostao shrugs off.
Sato lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Sato creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tostao's defenses.
Sato lands an elbow that stopped Tostao in his tracks for a moment.
Sato scores with a knee to the head.
Sato throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Tostao blocks it with crossed arms.
Sato lands a shoulder strike.
Sato landing knees to the body.
Nice elbow from Sato.


Tostao is rocked!
Sato lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Tostao is still on wobbly legs! Can Sato finish him?
A quick uppercut on the inside from Sato.
A short uppercut from Sato.
Sato pushes Tostao back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sato gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sato lands a big knee! That's hurt Tostao! Oh, he's all over the place! Sato lands another knee that sends Tostao to the floor and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hirohito Sato!
After the fight, Hirohito Sato was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
