Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nicolas Fredholm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hickson Hodge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicolas Fredholm has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nicolas Fredholm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hickson Hodge!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fredholm lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Hickson Hodge has been cut.

Fredholm drops Hodge with a nice combination! Fredholm dives into Hodge's guard, looking to finish!


Hodge is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Fredholm chips away with some ground and pound.
Hodge is still in real trouble! Can Fredholm finish him?

Hodge is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fredholm defends well.

Hodge is looking for a triangle here but Fredholm uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Hodge manages to get back to half guard.
Fredholm uses his free foot to push down on Hodge's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hodge.
Hodge regains half guard.
Fredholm seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Fredholm is trying to control the action in half guard but Hodge is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hodge makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hodge.

Hodge looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Fredholm has picked Hodge up and slammed him! Hodge can't keep hold of the triangle and Fredholm manages to pass to side control!
Hodge is not content to let Fredholm control the position.
Hodge is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Hodge gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Fredholm perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Fredholm wants to control but Hodge is keeping him busy.

Hodge on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Hodge is staying active underneath Fredholm, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fredholm in particular looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Fredholm tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Fredholm trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fredholm in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Hodge is squirming around, avoiding Fredholm's attempts to control the action.
Hodge tries to reverse the position but Fredholm maintains control.
Fredholm can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hodge is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicolas Fredholm dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Hickson Hodge's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



A jab-cross combination lands for Fredholm and sends Hodge crashing to the mat! Fredholm follows him down to the mat - Hodge regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Fredholm creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Fredholm is really struggling to control Hodge but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Fredholm looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fredholm working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Fredholm wants to stand but Hodge has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Hodge is refusing to be controlled, as Fredholm sits in half guard.
Fredholm seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Fredholm throws a one two combo.


That has opened up Hickson Hodge's cut even more.
No luck for Hodge with that takedown attempt.
Nicolas Fredholm is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Fredholm is pawing at Hodge, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Hodge's nose. Hodge is badly hurt! Fredholm pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Hodge tries desperately to hold on but Fredholm is relentless in his assault! As Hodge receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Fredholm away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nicolas Fredholm!
A relieved looking Nicolas Fredholm thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
