The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Washington looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Duke wants to control but Washington is keeping busy.
Duke regains full guard. Nicely done.
Duke might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Washington seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Duke is trying to control the position but Washington postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Washington fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Duke sprawls well initially but Washington persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Duke is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Washington defends well.

Duke had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Washington defends it easily.

Oh but Duke is tightening it up a little... Washington has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight!
