Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Caio Cardoso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, James McGuiness!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardoso misses with an uppercut.
Cardoso misses with a two punch combination.
McGuiness rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Cardoso counters with a one-two to the body.
Cardoso misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cardoso is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
McGuiness feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cardoso's calf.
Cardoso avoids the head kick by McGuiness.
Cardoso definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
McGuiness pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
McGuiness checks the leg kick nicely there.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from McGuiness! But no joy.
McGuiness blocks a head kick by Cardoso.
McGuiness pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A punch lands to the side of McGuiness 's head but he takes it in his stride.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McGuiness lands an overhand right.
Cardoso works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
A jab from Cardoso misses.
McGuiness chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Nice jab there from Cardoso.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cardoso tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
McGuiness throws out a loose jab but Cardoso uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cardoso misses with a looping right.
McGuiness avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cardoso defending well as McGuiness loads up on a big left hand.
McGuiness throws a solid leg kick but Cardoso takes the impact on his shin and smiles at McGuiness.

Cardoso fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGuiness, pushing him back against the ropes.
Cardoso tries a body shot but McGuiness blocks it.
Cardoso lands a right hand that snaps the head of McGuiness backwards.
McGuiness goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
McGuiness blocks a body shot from Cardoso.
McGuiness taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Cardoso trying to land knees to the body.
Cardoso holding his opponent close, against the ropes.
Nice body punch from McGuiness - that landed with a thud.
McGuiness misses with a hook from the clinch.
Cardoso looking to stall.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McGuiness taking a breather.
Cardoso blocks an uppercut.
Cardoso lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!


It looks like James McGuiness has been cut.
Cardoso lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of McGuiness backwards.
McGuiness stalling in the clinch but Cardoso improves position.
McGuiness told us before the fight that he's been working on his elbows. An under utilised technique these days - let's see if it can sway the outcome of the fight.
Cardoso lands a good knee to the midsection. McGuiness won't want to take too many of those.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cardoso tries a body shot but McGuiness blocks it.

McGuiness manages to break the clinch.
Cardoso avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
McGuiness throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Cardoso sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Cardoso clips McGuiness with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give McGuiness a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.


McGuiness is rocked!
Cardoso looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Cardoso backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks McGuiness's temple! It sends McGuiness violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Cardoso celebrates and the doctors try to help McGuiness!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Caio Cardoso!
