Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Terry Mirluk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stu Priest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mirluk's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Guns N' Roses - Paradise City. Stu Priest has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Terry Mirluk's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of The Island, Terry Mirluk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stu Priest!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Michael Johnstone and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Priest tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mirluk defends well and Priest ends up having to push Mirluk into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mirluk is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Priest.
Mirluk uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Priest.
Mirluk tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Priest manages to circle out of the way.

Priest closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mirluk did well to prevent Priest getting side control.
Mirluk is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Mirluk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Priest not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Priest trying to control the pace.
Priest winds up and cracks Mirluk with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Priest throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Mirluk has hold of Priest's hands but Priest slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mirluk manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Mirluk is pulling down on Priest's head to control his posture.
Priest looking to sit in guard and control but Mirluk gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Priest holds on and takes a little breather.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Priest looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mirluk is fending him off so far but Priest persists. Nope, Mirluk circles away and we're back to standing.
Mirluk throws a right hand that Priest ducks under and follows up with a left that Priest also avoids with ease.

and Mirluk connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Mirluk misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Priest closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Priest lands in his opponent's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Priest seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Priest is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Priest stalling away here and it's allowed Mirluk to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Priest has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mirluk wants to control the position but Priest says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Priest fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Priest goes for a double leg but Mirluk avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mirluk continues to drive forward.

Priest will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

The referee is keeping an eye on Mirluk - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
A left hand lands to the body for Mirluk.

A frustrated look appears on Priest's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Priest goes for a takedown attempt but Mirluk pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

and Priest counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Priest perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mirluk gets back to full guard.
Mirluk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Priest is one step ahead there.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Priest throws a strike but Mirluk rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Stu Priest will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Priest shoots in looking for a takedown but Mirluk manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Priest's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Mirluk looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Priest is defending well. Mirluk quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Priest has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Mirluk celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

An out of breath Terry Mirluk thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
