The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sykk gets a clinch.
Sykk pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Sykk blocks a body shot from Burton.
Burton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sykk's elbow.
Burton throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Sykk lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Sykk has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Sykk tries to work over Burton's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Burton throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

Burton wants to get back to full guard.
Sykk seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Burton does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Burton had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sykk defends it easily.

Burton is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Sykk has his hands clasped together but Burton extends and breaks Sykk's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Burton.
