PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lak Risal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucifer Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lak Risal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucifer Maia!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Risal swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Risal!

It looks like Lucifer Maia has been cut.
Maia shoots in for a takedown but Risal shows good takedown defense.
Maia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Risal manages to avoid it.
Risal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Maia has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Risal finds it's way round the side to connect with Maia's head.
Maia has a takedown stuffed.
Lak Risal has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucifer Maia.
Maia looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Risal drops Maia with a right and a left! Risal comes rushing in but Maia regains his composure and manages to keep Risal in guard.
Risal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Risal really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Maia isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Risal stacks Maia on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Risal!
Risal happy to just control the position for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Risal stands up.
Lak Risal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Risal lands with a thumping leg kick.
Risal looks to land a combination but Maia avoids it well.
Risal lands a high kick to the side of Maia's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Risal dives into guard, looking to finish.

That has opened up Lucifer Maia's cut even more.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Risal is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Maia working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Risal doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Risal manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Risal not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Risal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Maia works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lak Risal dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lucifer Maia's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

A slapping leg kick lands for Risal.
Risal misses with a jab, cross combination.
Risal lands a head kick that stumbles Maia and the fighters go to the mat.

Maia is rocked!

Lucifer Maia's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Lucifer Maia's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
