The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kingsley paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Kingsley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Maynard lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kingsley has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kingsley and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

and Kingsley counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kingsley throws the left hand but Maynard avoids the punch easily.

A left and a right from Maynard both land. Nice combination.

Kingsley was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Maynard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Maynard thumps Kingsley with a low kick.
That kick from Maynard tenderised Kingsley's leg. Kingsley is trying to keep his angry face on.

Maynard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kingsley. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That was a close round but I would say that James Kingsley will probably get the nod.

James Kingsley spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
