Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ray Reilly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nuriel Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Reilly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nuriel Leonard!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reilly is looking to score with low kicks.
Reilly misses with a straight right.
Leonard throws a looping overhand right but Reilly ducks down to avoid it.
We've been informed that Leonard has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Leonard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reilly moves away.

Leonard moves into the clinch successfully.
Reilly prevents a body shot from Leonard.
Reilly lands with a short shot to the head.
Reilly takes a knee right on the jaw!

Leonard takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Nice uppercut lands for Leonard. That snapped Reilly's head back.

We've been hearing good reports from Reilly's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Leonard creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Reilly sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Reilly walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Leonard checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Leonard lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reilly circles away quickly and effectively.

and Reilly counters with a big head kick but Leonard shrugs it off.
Reilly feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Leonards jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Nuriel Leonard comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Leonard has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Nuriel Leonard opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
