Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre Barda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Ross has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Pierre Barda!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross throws a right hand that Barda ducks under and follows up with a left that Barda also avoids with ease.
Ross looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Barda feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ross on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ross tries to get out of the position.

Ross avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Barda stands and throws Ross's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Barda is trying to get an arm triangle but Ross is defending well.

Barda is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ross is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Barda's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jean Pierre Barda just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Barda.
Barda has knee on belly and moves into mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Barda has a takedown stuffed.

Barda is pushing down on Ross's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ross is fighting to maintain full guard but Barda has managed to sneak the leg through.
Barda is taking a breather. Ross says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barda looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Barda wants to pass the guard but Ross is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Barda is controlling the pace.
Barda passes to side control.

Barda stands up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barda throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ross.
Barda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ross circles away.
Barda scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Ross doesn't seem bothered though.

Barda decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Barda content to control rather than advance.
Ross is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Barda jumps into side control!

Barda in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Let's hope that Barda has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Ross is looking for a sweep.
Barda takes a little break here. Ross wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jean Pierre Barda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Barda closes the distance and clinches up with Ross, looking for a takedown. Barda pushes Ross against the cage but Ross circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Horrible takedown by Barda or perhaps it was just good defense by Ross which made him look bad.
Ross connects with a high kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Barda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jack Ross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jean Pierre Barda.
Barda shoots for a takedown but Ross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ross forces Barda back against the cage and clinches.
Barda changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Ross fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Barda throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ross's waist but Ross gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Barda off to one side.
Ross stuffs the takedown attempt from Barda. Barda gets slowly back to his feet.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Ross.
Ross misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Jean Pierre Barda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Barda is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Barda's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ross wants to stand but Barda has his arm trapped.
Barda sneaks back into half guard.
Barda keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Barda wants to get back to his feet.
Barda is controlling Ross's trapped leg to prevent Ross from advancing to side control.
Barda avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ross.
Barda keeps control of the position for the meantime.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ross is stalling here. Barda is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ross seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Barda has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Barda is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Jack Ross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Barda advances to full mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Jean Pierre Barda.
I've got Barda winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
