Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 30 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jesse Jalkalukko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wilfred Trent!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jalkalukko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Jalkalukko scores with a head kick.
Jalkalukko misses the shot to the body.
Jalkalukko throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Trent.
Trent takes a swing at Jalkalukko's ribcage but misses.
Wilfred Trent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jalkalukko gets a takedown into half guard.

Jalkalukko is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Trent is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jalkalukko seems to be working for a kimura but Trent defends the submission attempt.
Jalkalukko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jalkalukko is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Trent is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Jalkalukko slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Jalkalukko is trying to get an arm triangle but Trent is defending well.
Jalkalukko tries to move into full mount but can't pass Trent's legs.

Jalkalukko thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jalkalukko looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Jalkalukko working the strikes but Trent uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Jalkalukko passes to side control.
Trent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jalkalukko. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Trent holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jalkalukko tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Jalkalukko breaks from Trent's wrist control and lands an elbow.


It looks like Wilfred Trent has been cut.

Jalkalukko is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Trent has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Jalkalukko lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jalkalukko tries to control but Trent wriggling away.
Trent can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Jalkalukko dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Wilfred Trent's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jalkalukko throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Trent's head.


That has opened up Wilfred Trent's cut even more.
Trent fails to land with a series of punches.

Jalkalukko darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Trent is looking to escape.
Jalkalukko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Trent!
Trent tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jalkalukko has control of Trent's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Trent regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Trent holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Jalkalukko tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Jalkalukko throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Jalkalukko with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Trent is desperately trying to improve his position but Jalkalukko has a good base and remains in mount.
Jalkalukko throwing strikes here but Trent is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Trent tries to hold on but Jalkalukko pushes him away.

Trent tries to improve his position but Jalkalukko has taken his back! Jalkalukko has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Trent tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Jalkalukko pushes Trent away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jesse Jalkalukko!
