The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anstey tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Benjamin defends well and Anstey ends up having to push Benjamin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Anstey goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Byron Benjamin has been cut.
Benjamin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anstey manages to avoid it.
Anstey tries to counter with a takedown but Benjamin is quick to defend against it.

Anstey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Benjamin uses from the top position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Benjamin throws a body punch but Anstey moves out of range.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Benjamin.

Benjamin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Anstey is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Benjamin to the mat. Benjamin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Anstey is standing up over Benjamin. Benjamin looks to escape but Anstey dives into side control.

Anstey working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Anstey remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
