PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jabber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jim Jabber has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jim Jabber seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jim Jabber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sean Juan!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jabber changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jabber wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
We've been told by Jabber's head coaches at Lock and Roll Grappling Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jabber throws a body punch but Juan moves out of range.

Juan pushes Jabber up against the cage in a clinch.
Jabber prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jabber wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Jabber tries to circle away but Juan has him pinned against the cage.

Jabber breaks the clinch.
Jabber dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Juan. That did some damage!
Juan is looking to clinch.
Jabber throws a nice looking combination but Juan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jabber lands a nice hook to Juan's body. Juan takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Juan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jabber connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Juan scrambles back to his feet.
Juan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Juan misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jabber.
Juan looks for the body kick but Jabber saw that one coming.
Jabber scores with a shot to the body.
Jabber throws out a loose jab but Juan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jabber plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


Juan is rocked!
Jabber is looking to wear down Juan with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Jabber takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Juan is still on wobbly legs! Can Jabber finish him?
Jabber throws a head kick that misses.
Juan seems to have recovered his senses.
Juan just misses with a punch to the body.
Jabber misses with a looping right.
A countering left hand to the body from Juan misses.
Jabber takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Juan clinches up against the cage.
Jabber scores with a nice hook to the head.
Jabber wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Juan has him pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Jabber's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Juan tries to land a knee to the head but Jabber blocks with his arms.
Jabber is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Juan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jabber is defending well for now.

Juan breaks the clinch.

Juan shoots in for a takedown but Jabber shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Juan slips a jab from Jabber.
Jabber tries a head kick but it misses.
Jabber is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Juan.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jabber is looking to land body kicks.
Jabber keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A clash of legs there as Jabber blocks the low kick.
Juan jabs at Jabber's body.
Juan tries to clinch there but Jabber circles away.
Jabber throws a head kick that misses.
Jabber misses with a double jab
and Juan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Juan throws a body punch but Jabber moves out of range.
Jabber lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Juan circles away quickly and effectively.
Juan looks to score with a jab to the body but Jabber is just out of range.
Jab, jab by Jabber - just one landing.
Juan takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jabber throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jabber misses with a hook. Juan ducked under it nicely.
Jim Jabber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jabber with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Juan to score with a decent uppercut.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Juan throws a half hearted mid kick.
Juan looks to score with a jab to the body but Jabber is just out of range.
Juan moves forwards but Jabber connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Jabber throws a jab but it's blocked by Juan.

Juan has managed to clinch.
A short right from Juan on the inside.

Juan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Juan throws a leg kick but Jabber checks it.

Juan gets tackled into the cage by Jabber. Jabber maintains the clinch.
Juan throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jabber blocks it with crossed arms.
Juan pushes Jabber back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Jabber wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Jabber has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Juan unloads a knee to the mid-section. Jabber lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Jabber manages to break the clinch.
Juan moves forwards but Jabber connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Juan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Juan steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Jabber. That one must have hurt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Juan lands a big head kick that sends Jabber tumbling to the mat! Juan takes a step backwards and waves Jabber back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Jabber is rocked!


It looks like Jim Jabber has been cut.
Jabber keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Oh Jabber is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Juan cracks Jabber with a hook to the temple - Jabber is on wobbly legs here! Juan swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Jabber falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Juan wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Sean Juan!
After the big win, Sean Juan made sure to do all the important stuff like thanking his sponsors Sun-Tzu and telling the interviewer how much he loves him.
