Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tad Shepherd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kto Kto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tad Shepherd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kto Kto!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kto moves into range and clinches up with Shepherd.
Shepherd is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kto is defending well.
Kto is struggling to control the position.
Kto is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Kto lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Shepherd manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kto has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Shepherd is trying to keep an underhook but Kto manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Kto trying to mount his opponent but Shepherd defends it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Shepherd trying to control but Kto postures up.
Kto is looking to advance position but Shepherd won't allow it.
Kto not doing much here.
Kto drops an elbow to the side of Shepherd's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Kto thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Shepherd tries to get to full guard but Kto has control of the leg.
Kto keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Kto throwing shots but Shepherd is blocking nicely.
Kto tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Shepherd.
Kto perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Shepherd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Shepherd is looking to control Kto's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shepherd avoid being mounted?
Shepherd wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Nice sprawl there from Shepherd as Kto shoots in.
Shepherd throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kto.
Shepherd tries to clinch up.
Kto steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Shepherd.
Kto throws a poor cross that misses
and Shepherd cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A head kick misses from Shepherd.
Shepherd looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shepherd fails to land with a series of punches.

Kto shoots in and bounces Shepherd off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Kto is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kto pushing down on Shepherd's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Kto content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kto thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Shepherd's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kto looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kto lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kto Kto dominated that round.
That's time! Shepherd's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kto throws a half hearted mid kick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kto or perhaps it was just good defense by Shepherd, which made it look bad.

Kto fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Shepherd, pushing him back against the cage.

Kto gets control of Shepherd's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kto will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Kto working for a triangle but Shepherd defends it easily.
Kto trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kto trying to control the position here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kto can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kto looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Kto wants to stand but Shepherd has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Kto lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kto seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kto trying to control the pace.
Kto throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Kto is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shepherd manages to get to full guard.
Kto controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kto is pushing down on Shepherd's leg trying to pass to half guard. Shepherd is fighting to maintain full guard but Kto has managed to sneak the leg through.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kto is continuing to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Kto closes the distance and clinches.

Kto pulls guard effortlessly.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kto is striking from the bottom but Shepherd uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kto Kto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Shepherd closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Kto shoots in for a takedown but Shepherd shows good takedown defense.
Kto misses with a takedown attempt - Shepherd sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Kto Kto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kto gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kto successfully pulls guard.

Shepherd makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Kto looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Kto shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Shepherd's guard.

Kto postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shepherd is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Kto, into his guard.

Kto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shepherd can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kto takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kto has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Shepherd is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kto has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Shepherd is looking to defend but Kto has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Shepherd! Kto pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Shepherd taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Kto Kto!
