Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Beurling (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Houge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Beurling!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Houge!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beurling is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Beurling ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Houge moves away.

Beurling gets a clinch.
Beurling digs a right hand into Houge's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Houge's gas tank.

Beurling pulls guard effortlessly.
Beurling is trying to control the position but Houge postures up.
Beurling keeping full guard, as Houge tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Houge accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Beurling throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Beurling wants to sweep but no luck.
Houge landing some decent shots from guard.
Beurling throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Houge working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck for Houge with that takedown attempt.
Beurling takes a swing at Houge's ribcage but misses.

Beurling stuns Houge with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Houge takes one to the chin there.


It looks like Paul Houge has been cut.
Houge walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Beurling rushes Houge and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Beurling tries to land knees in the clinch but Houge avoids the damage to the body.
Beurling comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Beurling lands with a light punch inside.
Beurling scores with a shoulder strike.
Houge fails to pull guard.

Houge successfully pulls guard.
Beurling stopping the sweep attempt from Houge.
Beurling slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Houge has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Houge tries to improve position but can't.

Houge is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Beurling wants to lay and pray for a moment but Houge keeps working.
Beurling is really struggling to control Houge but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Houge is looking for a sweep.
Beurling content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Beurling is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Houge knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Houge tries to bench press Beurling off him but Beurling keeps the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Beurling lands a body shot.

Beurling cracks Houge with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A decent looking cross lands there for Beurling.

Beurling pushes Houge up against the cage in a clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Beurling just misses with a elbow thrown towards Houge's brow.
Beurling lands with a left to the head.


That has opened up Paul Houge's cut even more.
Houge has Beurling pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Beurling manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
George Beurling has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Houge.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Beurling lands a takedown into guard.
Beurling trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Beurling in particular looking to stall.

Houge walks into a left hand.
Beurling lands with a slapping head kick.
Houge misses with a takedown attempt - Beurling sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Beurling gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Houge regains guard.
Beurling works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Beurling frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Houge is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Houge defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Beurling.

Beurling wants to control but Houge is keeping him busy.

Beurling is nestled in close to Houge, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Houge is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Beurling seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Houge has momentary wrist control but Beurling slips an elbow through the middle.
Beurling lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Houge has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Beurling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

George Beurling overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Houge is not content to let Beurling control the position.
Beurling is working Houge over with some ground and pound from side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Paul Houge's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
