Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
13 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Townsley!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samart Thanasukarn!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Townsley tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Thanasukarn was well out of range. Poor timing from Townsley.
Despite the aggression on Thanasukarn's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Thanasukarn walks into a left hand.
Townsley has Thanasukarn up against the ropes in a clinch.
Thanasukarn pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ben Townsley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thanasukarn dodges the punch combination from Townsley.
Townsley lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thanasukarn circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Townsley scores with a three punch combo!
Townsley misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Townsley lands with a good body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Townsley clinches up with Thanasukarn and pushes him back against the ropes.
Thanasukarn manages to break the clinch.
Townsley closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Thanasukarn crashing to the mat! Thanasukarn uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
Townsley misses with a wild body shot.
Thanasukarn lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Townsley has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cobra Kai Dojo in the buildup to the fight.
A swing and a miss from Townsley.
Townsley lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Thanasukarn at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Townsley fails to land with a series of punches.
Thanasukarn takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Townsley fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Townsley throws a shot from downtown. Thanasukarn moves away and avoids it.
As Townsley backs off Thanasukarn throws a huge counter combo but Townsley manages to avoid it all.
Townsley scores with a nice strike.
Townsley dips to his left and cracks Thanasukarn with an uppercut!
Thanasukarn is rocked!
Thanasukarn tries to get into range but Townsley steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Thanasukarn! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Townsley scores the big KO victory!
