Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Katsumi Nasu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Laith Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nasu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Shura no Hana. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Katsumi Nasu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Laith Law!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Roosa Järviläinen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Nasu.
Nasu ducks under a wild hook from Law.
Law walks into a straight right hand from Nasu.
Law dives in and grabs Nasu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Nasu pushes down on Law's head and hops out.
Nasu lands the left hand.


It looks like Laith Law has been cut.
An inside leg kick lands from Nasu.
Nasu throws a hook but Law blocks it.
Nasu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Law.
A big left from Law misses.
Nasu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Law's head backwards.
Nasu slips under a jab from Law.
Law on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Law takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nasu swinging wildly here.
Law swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Law takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Law staying out of range there.
Nasu avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Law shoots in looking for a takedown but Nasu manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Law's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Katsumi Nasu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Nasu misses.
Law has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Law moves out of range of the strikes.
Law let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Law throws a one two combo.


It looks like Katsumi Nasu has been cut.
Left hook, right uppercut from Law.
Law slips under a jab from Nasu.
Nasu throws a sloppy body shot
and Nasu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nasu connects with a right hand. Law shakes it off.
Nasu shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Law defends it nicely.

Law throws an overhand right that lands on Nasu's shoulder, as Nasu tries to avoid the shot.
Nasu keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Law.
Nasu throws a jab but it's blocked by Law.
Nasu changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Nasu throws a shot to the body.
Law misses with a lunging right hand
and Nasu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Law misses with a body punch
and Nasu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Nasu slips under a jab.
Law scores with a crisp jab that stopped Nasu in his tracks.
Law misses with a straight left.
Law lands a glancing blow to the side of Nasu's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Law throws the left hand but Nasu avoids the punch easily.
Nasu darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Law might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Nasu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Law throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A telegraphed right hand from Law misses the target.
Nasu slips a jab from Law.
It looked like Nasu wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Nasu connects with a jab.
Law misses with a lunging right hand

and Nasu counters with a crisp right hand that drops Law! Nasu lets Law back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Law is rocked!
Law is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Nasu fakes the body blow, causing Law to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Law goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Katsumi Nasu!
An out of breath Katsumi Nasu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
