PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jean Caisse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reggie Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Caisse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reggie Young!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Caisse shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Young is trying to defend but Caisse finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Caisse thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Caisse is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Young doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Caisse.
Young avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Caisse.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Caisse looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Young with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Caisse is trying to control the action in half guard but Young is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Caisse throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Caisse is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Young doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Caisse.

Caisse thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Young's head.

Caisse is working for a kimura but Young is defending it quite comfortably.
Caisse missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Young avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Caisse.

Caisse seems to be working for a kimura but Young defends the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Caisse trying to pass the guard but Young defending well.
Caisse thows a huge punch but Young dodges it nicely.

Caisse misses with a head shot. Young uses the momentum to regain guard.
Caisse throws a big elbow that misses.

Caisse stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Young swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Caisse throws a strike but Young rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Young gets to his feet - Caisse follows without any prompting.
Young slips a jab and a cross from Caisse.
Young lands a jab to the head.
Caisse fails to land the takedown.
Young is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Young displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Caisse.
Caisse takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice uppercut there from Young.
Young swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Caisse fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Caisse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Caisse misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Young displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Caisse.
Young changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Caisse takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Caisse fails with a takedown attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Young throws a right and a left that both miss.
Young has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Caisse is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Good standup being displayed there by Young as he connects with a hook.

Oooooh!!! Young has knocked Caisse down with a huge combo! Young steps away and waves a wobbly Caisse back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Caisse is rocked!


It looks like Jean Caisse has been cut.
Caisse switches off momentarily and Young cracks him with a monster right hand! Caisse topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Young dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Young!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Reggie Young!
