The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Erickson scores with a punch to the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dawes is defended easily by Erickson.
Erickson lands an overhand right.
Good leg kick by Erickson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Erickson throws a right hand that Dawes ducks under and follows up with a left that Dawes also avoids with ease.

Dawes shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Erickson pinned against the cage. Erickson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dawes closes the distance and clinches up with Erickson, looking for a takedown. Dawes pushes Erickson against the cage but Erickson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Timmy Erickson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marjorie Dawes.

Dawes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Erickson is trying to defend but Dawes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Dawes working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Dawes uses his free foot to push down on Erickson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Erickson.

Dawes is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Erickson is surviving well by controlling Dawes's body position as best he can.
