Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Walood Kassab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fergal Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kassab might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Merauder - Life Is Pain. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Walood Kassab!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fergal Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kassab dives in and scores a takedown into Murphy's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Kassab stands up over Murphy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kassab is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kassab is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kassab postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Kassab throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Murphy works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kassab works over Murphy with some ground and pound from guard.

Murphy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kassab can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kassab working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Murphy's head.
Kassab lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've been hearing good reports from Kassab's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Murphy is rocked!
Kassab arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Murphy's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Walood Kassab!
Post fight, Walood Kassab took to the microphone: 'I tore a muscle out on the dock a couple days ago but I didn't want to pull out of the fight. I pushed forward and it paid off. Thank you Brazil.'.
