Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Avila Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Hawryluk!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez throws a head kick but Hawryluk moves out of range.
Hawryluk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alvarez is looking for a counter combo.
Hawryluk scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Alvarez takes one to the chin there.
Hawryluk tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Alvarez was well out of range. Poor timing from Hawryluk.
Hawryluk throws a hook but Alvarez blocks it.
Hawryluk throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily.
Alvarez throws a series of punches but Hawryluk avoids them all with ease.
Hawryluk is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Alvarez with a body shot.
Hawryluk avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hawryluk is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Alvarez.
Hawryluk has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Hawryluk instigates a clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hawryluk throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Alvarezs head.
Alvarez throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Hawryluk scores with a shot to the side of Alvarez's head.
The referee is keeping an eye on Hawryluk - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Alvarez tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Alvarez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hawryluk misses with a straight left.
Hawryluk throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Alvarez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez throws a lazy right hand but Hawryluk sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hawryluk dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hawryluk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hawryluk slips a jab and a cross from Alvarez.
Hawryluk works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Hawryluk bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hawryluk tests Alvarez's chin there with a solid looking shot.
A head kick misses from Alvarez.
Alvarez throws a nice head kick!
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hawryluk punishes Alvarez's body with a nice straight punch.
Hawryluk ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alvarez on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Alvarez tries to clinch there but Hawryluk circles away.
Hawryluk is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Alvarez with a body shot.

Hawryluk moves into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Alvarez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hawryluk's brow.
Hawryluk scores with a nice hook to the head.
Alvarez tries to break free but Hawryluk pushes him back against the cage.

Hawryluk escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Alvarez gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hawryluk lands with a left to the head.
Alvarez misses with a punch to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Hawryluk creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Alvarez takes a shot to the head.
Hawryluk scores with a shot to the side of Alvarez's head.
Alvarez misses with an elbow over the top.

Hawryluk breaks the clinch.
Hawryluk lands with a nice body punch.
Alvarez tries to clinch up but Hawryluk circles away and keeps his distance.
As Alvarez backs off Hawryluk throws a huge counter combo but Alvarez manages to avoid it all.

Alvarez is rocked!
Alvarez drops his hands momentarily. Hawryluk doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Alvarez staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Alvarez doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Aaron Hawryluk!
Aaron Hawryluk decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Avila Alvarez was interviewed post fight and said 'That's dude...that dude right there is a beast. Much respect.'.
