The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ben Watson and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maralit clinches.
Maxwell tries to land a knee to the head but Maralit blocks with his arms.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Maralit takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Maralit pushes off an throws an elbow but Maxwell leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Maxwell jumps guard but Maralit stands there with Maxwell around his waist. Maxwell gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Maxwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
