Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darren Sarsfield!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jeremy Zoeke!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sarsfield shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Zoeke but Zoeke pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Sarsfield shoots in looking for a takedown. Zoeke tries to sprawl out of it but Sarsfield keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Zoeke manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Nice sprawl there from Sarsfield as Zoeke shoots in.
Sarsfield throws a big counter combination but Zoeke scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Sarsfield moves out of range as Zoeke throws a body kick.
Zoeke fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sarsfield is defended easily by Zoeke.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zoeke. Sarsfield does a little dance to reset his feet.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Zoeke has eaten all the pies!

Sarsfield's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Zoeke tries to clinch up but Sarsfield circles away and keeps his distance.

Zoeke throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sarsfield swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
A telegraphed right hand from Zoeke misses the target.
Nice takedown defense from Sarsfield. No joy for Zoeke on that attempt.

Sarsfield has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Zoeke uses from the top position.

Sarsfield throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Zoeke escapes and throws Sarsfield's legs to the side, diving into side control!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Sarsfield.
Zoeke wants to get back to his feet but Sarsfield is dominant here and he's now got Zoeke's back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A head kick misses from Sarsfield.

Sarsfield closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sarsfield lands in his opponent's guard.

Zoeke is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sarsfield presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Zoeke tries to pull guard but Sarsfield holds him up against the cage and eventually Zoeke drops back down to his feet.
Zoeke wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sarsfield has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarsfield manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Zoeke jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sarsfield walks away with a smile on his face. Zoeke gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Darren Sarsfield is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Zoeke is working for takedown but Sarsfield is calmly controlling the position for now.
