The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallagher leaves Pistachio with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Gallagher throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pistachio blocks it with crossed arms.
Pistachio's coach down at Roosters Coop was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pistachio's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Pistachio changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Gallagher fights it off and pushes away nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pistachio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
