PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ace Edison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axel Arlovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edison comes to the cage accompanied by Wannabee by Spice Girls. Axel Arlovski will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ace Edison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Axel Arlovski!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Paul Gruel and Josh West.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Edison darts in and clinches Arlovski up against the cage.
Edison tries a body shot but Arlovski blocks it.

Arlovski's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Arlovski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Edison misses with a body punch.

Arlovski breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Edison stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Arlovski.
Arlovski takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Arlovski throws a sloppy head kick and Edison moves out of range easily.

Edison changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Edison walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Arlovski checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Arlovski takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Edison misses with a leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Arlovski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Arlovski prevents a body shot from Edison.

Edison lands a hook to the side of the head.
Arlovski takes a shot to the head.
Edison digs a right hand underneath Arlovski's ribcage. Arlovski let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Edison presses Arlovski against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Edison tries a body shot but Arlovski blocks it.
Edison manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Edison cracks Arlovski with a nice body shot.

Edison tries to throw a body punch but Arlovski avoids it by throwing Edison back against the cage.

Arlovski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Edison tries to land knees in the clinch but Arlovski avoids the damage to the body.
Edison's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Edison cracks Arlovski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Arlovski on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Edison. Edison obviously looking to wear him down.

Arlovski fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Edison to the ground. Arlovski is now in Edison's guard.

Edison looking for a triangle here. Arlovski is fighting it but it looks tight! Edison pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Arlovski is tapping out - this one is all over!
