Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Foster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristian Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Chris Foster has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Foster!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 30 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cristian Romero!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foster throws a hook but Romero blocks it.
Foster slaps away a takedown attempt from Romero, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Romero shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Foster as he avoids it easily.
Foster lands with a right hand.
Foster connects with the punch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Foster.
Foster is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Romero manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Foster on his heels. He'll look to pass Foster's guard now, I'm sure.
Foster pulls Romero in close to prevent any damage.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Romero working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Romero is looking to advance position but Foster has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Romero is in all sorts of trouble here.
Foster controlling the pace for now.

Foster content just to control the position here.
Foster prevents Romero from getting the reversal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foster looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Romero wants to control but Foster is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Romero sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Foster prevents Romero from improving his position.

Foster looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Romero is looking for a sweep. Foster is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Romero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Romero holds on and takes a little breather.
Foster will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Romero has an active guard here but Foster has managed to pass into half guard.

Foster is looking for a kimura but Romero is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Foster to get the leverage.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Romero looks like he's trying to stand up.

Romero is trying to maintain the position but Foster is very close to passing his half guard.
Foster is controlling the pace.
Romero tries to get to full guard but Foster has control of the leg.
Romero is pressing down on Foster's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Romero wants to sweep here but Foster controlling him for the moment.
Foster not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Romero has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Foster can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Foster won't allow Romero to sweep him here.

Foster tries to free his leg and advance position but Romero is retaining full guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Romero is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Foster misses the shot to the body.
Romero fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Romero finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Romero goes for a double leg but Foster avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Foster continues to drive forward.
Foster connects with a body shot.
Romero slips a straight right by Foster.
Foster is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Romero can do to turn this around?
Foster stuffs the takedown attempt from Romero. Romero gets slowly back to his feet.
Chris Foster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cristian Romero.
Some bone on bone action there as Romero checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Romero avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Foster throws a jab but it's blocked by Romero.
Foster tries to score with a low kick but Romero moves his leg out of the way.

Foster feints and then cracks Romero's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Romero down.

A head kick misses from Romero.

Romero shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Foster's guard.
Romero is breathing heavily.
Romero stands and throws Foster's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Foster is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Romero off and has taken his back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Foster keeps control of the position as Romero tries to break free.
Romero is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Foster lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Foster.

Romero manages to reverse the position and now he's in Foster's guard. Nice work there by Romero.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Foster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Foster pushes Romero off and gets back to his feet.
Foster avoids the head kick by Romero.
Foster ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Romero moves away.
Foster will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Romero changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

and Foster counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Romero wants to sweep here but Foster controlling him for the moment.
Romero is trying to control the position but Foster postures up.
Foster stays in close to Romero's body and controls the position.
Romero is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Foster postures up.
Romero wants to improve his position but instead Foster has moved into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Foster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Romero manages to avoid it.
Romero shoots in but Foster avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Foster lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Romero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Foster avoids it really well and circles away.
Foster misses with a low kick.
Foster is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Foster throws a body shot but no joy.
Romero tries to counter by closing the distance.
Foster lands a glancing blow to the side of Romero's head.

Foster rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Romero moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cristian Romero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Foster comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Romero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Foster misses with a wild combination.
Foster connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Foster fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Romero on the side of the head.


Romero is rocked!
Romero keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Foster misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Romero.
Romero ducks under a wild hook from Foster.
Romero with the counter takedown but Foster avoids it easily.
Foster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Romero was well out of range. Poor timing from Foster.
Foster fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Romero looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Romero doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Foster counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Romero is still on wobbly legs! Can Foster finish him?
Chris Foster has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cristian Romero.
Foster pushes Romero away with a front kick.
Romero walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Foster! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit!
