And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marvin Van Hinkel!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Saam Ante and Radbod Blank.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruiz moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Ruiz clinches up against the cage.
Ruiz stalling in the clinch.
Van Hinkel displaying some good clinch control by pressing Ruiz up against the cage.
Van Hinkel is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ruiz is defending well for now.
Ruiz can't get the takedown.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ruiz is stalling here.

Van Hinkel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Van Hinkel ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ruiz moves away.
Van Hinkel misses with a series of wild punches.
Van Hinkel throws a nice looking combination but Ruiz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ruiz throws a body kick that misses.
Ruiz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Van Hinkel finds it's way round the side to connect with Ruiz's head.
Van Hinkel misses with the combination.
Van Hinkel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Van Hinkel throws a leg kick

and Ruiz counters by moving into the clinch.
Van Hinkel is trying to break free.
Van Hinkel lands a body punch in the clinch.
Van Hinkel works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Ruiz misses with a short punch on the inside.

Van Hinkel has hold of one of Ruiz's legs. Ruiz is fighting the takedown attempt but Van Hinkel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ruiz is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Van Hinkel presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Van Hinkel ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Van Hinkel no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ruiz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Van Hinkel looking for a sweep. Not yet Van Hinkel, not yet.

Ruiz decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Van Hinkel, up you get!
Ruiz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Van Hinkel.
Van Hinkel wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Van Hinkel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Ruiz is rocked!

It looks like Renato Ruiz has been cut.
Van Hinkel turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Oh Ruiz is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Van Hinkel looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Van Hinkel throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Marvin Van Hinkel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Van Hinkel throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Ruiz crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
