Beltshazar kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Who let the Dogs out?. Charbonneau has chosen Stromae - Formidable as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Ryan Beltshazar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Marshall Charbonneau!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charbonneau ducks right into an uppercut from Beltshazar.
Charbonneau ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Beltshazar!
No joy there for Beltshazar, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ryan Beltshazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Charbonneau is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beltshazar sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Beltshazar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Charbonneau to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Charbonneau lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Charbonneau's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Beltshazar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Charbonneau defends it easily.
Charbonneau pushing down on Beltshazar's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Nice strikes from Charbonneau there.
Charbonneau wants to control but Beltshazar is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Beltshazar manages to get to full guard.
Charbonneau trying to control but Beltshazar is working from the bottom.
Charbonneau might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Beltshazar haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Charbonneau lands a couple of elbows.
Charbonneau tries to free his leg and advance position but Beltshazar is retaining full guard.

Beltshazar is looking to cinch up a triangle. Charbonneau throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Beltshazar's body to avoid the submission. Beltshazar has instead reached around Charbonneau's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Beltshazar arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ryan Beltshazar!
An out of breath Ryan Beltshazar thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
