Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Coleman Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott has chosen White Rabbit as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Coleman Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jason Scott!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coleman Jr getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

Coleman Jr rushes Scott and presses him up against the cage.
Scott is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Coleman Jr gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Coleman Jr gets underhooks to prevent Scott's takedown attempt.
Coleman Jr has a couple of punches blocked by Scott.
Scott avoids the elbow strike from Coleman Jr, against the cage.
Coleman Jr misses with a knee strike.

Scott has clasped his hands together around Coleman Jr's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Coleman Jr manages to work his way to half guard, despite Scott's best efforts.
Coleman Jr wants to control but Scott is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Scott wants to pass the guard but Coleman Jr is defending well.
Scott missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott wants to free his trapped foot but Coleman Jr is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Scott looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Scott prevents Coleman Jr from improving his position.

Scott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scott misses with a head shot. Coleman Jr uses the momentum to regain guard.

Coleman Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Scott can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Scott slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Scott with a flurry of punches that miss.

Coleman Jr looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Scott passes into half guard.
Scott seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Scott is nestled in close to Coleman Jr, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Coleman Jr is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Scott takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Scott shoots for a takedown but Coleman Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mark Coleman Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Scott.
Coleman Jr throws a right hand that Scott ducks under and follows up with a left that Scott also avoids with ease.
The fight stays on the outside here - Coleman Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Scott feints the counter takedown.
Scott tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Coleman Jr swivels and escapes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Scott gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Coleman Jr counters with a nice low kick that buckles Scott's knee momentarily.
Coleman Jr throws a leg kick that is checked

and Scott decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Coleman Jr's guard.
Scott trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Coleman Jr is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Coleman Jr wants to sweep here but Scott controlling him for the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Coleman Jr is on top in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Scott working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Coleman Jr has passed into half guard!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Coleman Jr will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Coleman Jr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Scott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Coleman Jr circles away from the clinch attempt.
Coleman Jr throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Scott sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Coleman Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Scott throws out a counter right but Coleman Jr avoids it with no problem.
A leg kick checked by Scott.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coleman Jr instigates a clinch.
Scott has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Coleman Jr after a bit of a struggle.
Scott has Coleman Jr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Coleman Jr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Mark Coleman Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Scott.
Coleman Jr is stalling here.

Coleman Jr blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Coleman Jr will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Scott up against the cage.
Scott tries for a takedown but Coleman Jr manages to get underhooks.
Coleman Jr lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Scott blocks an uppercut.
Coleman Jr misses with some punches.

Scott has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Coleman Jr regains guard immediately.
Scott postures up in Coleman Jr's guard and throws a big left but Coleman Jr blocks it.
Coleman Jr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Scott manages to get himself to full guard.

Our spies down at at Kombat MMA inform us that Scott has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Coleman Jr passes easily into side control. Nice work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scott tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Coleman Jr presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Coleman Jr cracks Scott with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.


Scott is rocked!
Coleman Jr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Scott can do to turn this around?
Coleman Jr unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Scott wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Coleman Jr celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
