Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ross Morrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jantte Pekkane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jantte Pekkane will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pekkane lands a jab to Morrow's midsection.
Pekkane throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Ross Morrow has been cut.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pekkane.
Morrow is trying hard to land a takedown here. Pekkane sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Pekkane bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Morrow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Morrow is trying to control Pekkane's posture but Pekkane avoids it.
Morrow tries to escape but Pekkane is in control.
Pekkane is looking to take a break and control but Morrow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pekkane connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Morrow some visible discomfort.

Morrow is trying to control Pekkane's posture but Pekkane avoids it.

Pekkane looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pekkane stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Pekkane looks for a takedown but Morrow sprawls well.
Pekkane doesn't manage to clinch there - Morrow circles away.
Pekkane misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ross Morrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jantte Pekkane.

Pekkane gets caught napping as Morrow dives in and scores a takedown. Pekkane manages to retain guard.

Morrow not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morrow with a flurry of punches that miss.

Pekkane wants to hit a switch here but Morrow passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pekkane there!

Morrow wants to control the pace but Pekkane is squirming around nicely.
Morrow lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Pekkane keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Morrow postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pekkane looks a forlorn figure.

Morrow has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Pekkane's face.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Morrow cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That was a close round but I would say that Ross Morrow will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Nice sprawl there from Pekkane as Morrow shoots in.

Pekkane instigates a clinch.
Pekkane doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pekkane tries to pull guard but Morrow holds him up against the cage and eventually Pekkane drops back down to his feet.
Morrow wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Pekkane has him pressed against the cage.
Pekkane tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pekkane jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Morrow walks away with a smile on his face. Pekkane gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ross Morrow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jantte Pekkane.

Pekkane throws a leg kick but Morrow sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Morrow has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Pekkane uses from the top position.
