The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karatzas tries to clinch up but Day circles away and keeps his distance.
It looked like Day wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Karatzas throws the kick towards the body but Day avoids it.

Karatzas moves into range and clinches up with Day.
Karatzas tries for a takedown but Day manages to get underhooks.
Day on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Karatzas is looking to control Day's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Karatzas avoid being mounted?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Karatzas counters with a left and a right that stings Day.

Day tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Karatzas just stands there and leans against the cage.

Karatzas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Day sprawls well. Day wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Karatzas gets slowly back to his feet.

Day has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Karatzas clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Day connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Karatzas to escape the position.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
