Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Edward Copeland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredric Brannon!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brannon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Copeland stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Copeland shoots in for a double leg but Brannon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Brannon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Copeland is looking for a counter combo.
Copeland defending well as Brannon loads up on a big left hand.
Fredric Brannon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brannon lands a jab to the head.
Copeland looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Copeland closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Brannon quickly recovers to half guard.
Copeland is looking to take a break and control but Brannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Brannon wants to get back to full guard.

Copeland is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brannon defends it well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Copeland is just content to waste time from the top position. Brannon takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Copeland wants to control from the top but Brannon keeps moving.

Copeland has gone for a leg lock! Brannon slips out almost immediately though and dives into Copeland's guard.

Brannon is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Copeland working for a triangle but Brannon defends it easily.
Copeland is breathing heavily.
Brannon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Copeland works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Brannon postures up in Copeland's guard and throws a big left but Copeland blocks it.

Copeland is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brannon is aware though and is defending well.
Copeland can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brannon controls the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Brannon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Brannon content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Copeland keeping full guard, as Brannon tries to pass.
Copeland preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Brannon wants to control from the top but Copeland keeps moving.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Brannon throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Brannon's coach down at All Time Wrestling - 12 ELITE COACHES was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Brannon's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Brannon fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Copeland looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Brannon drives through with a takedown into Copeland's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Brannon passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Brannon tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Brannon looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Copeland is avoiding damage well.
Brannon is looking to take a break and control but Copeland is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Copeland is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Brannon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Copeland is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Brannon fails to land a wild elbow strike.

Brannon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brannon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ground and pound from Brannon seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Brannon has an Americana. Copeland didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Brannon is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Brannon hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Fredric Brannon!
