Coming up we have a lightweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Malakai Semerkhet and Akira Hayabusa. Semerkhet comes to the cage accompanied by راقصة صغيرة. Hayabusa has chosen Asian War Battle as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Malakai Semerkhet! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 2 losses; Akira Hayabusa!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Atkins and James Ackerman.

We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Hayabusa doesn't manage to clinch there - Semerkhet circles away.
Hayabusa misses with a takedown attempt - Semerkhet sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Semerkhet tries to counter with a takedown but Hayabusa is quick to defend against it.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hayabusa in particular looking to stall.

Hayabusa is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Semerkhet is just riding it out for now. Hayabusa eventually gives up the hold.

Hayabusa told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hayabusa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Semerkhet is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hayabusa throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Semerkhet's body to avoid the submission. Semerkhet has instead reached around Hayabusa's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Semerkhet arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 6:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Malakai Semerkhet!
A less than humble Malakai Semerkhet misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
In defeat, Akira Hayabusa stepped up to the mic, saying 'I got too confident. But full credit to my opponent for bringing his A-game. Much respect - later down the line, I wanna re-match.'.
